Scheumann Stadium, home of the Ball State Cardinals is one of the smallest stadiums in the MAC Conference. Located in Munice, Indiana, a new stadium for the Cardinals was constructed in 1967. Opening that fall, the stadium had a capacity of 22,500.

Since its opening in 1967, the stadium has changed very little. Artificial turf replaced the grass playing field before the 1997 season, although it has since been replaced with grass. The stadium consists of three sets of one tier grandstands, one on each side of the gridiron and one set below the endzone. In 2005, Ball State Stadium was renamed Scheumann Stadium after John and June Scheumann donated $4 million to the $12 million stadium campaign to enlarge and improve the facility. Future improvements include a larger pressbox, luxury suites, new ticket offices, façade work and constructing seating on the north end to increase the seating capacity to just over 25,000. Work is scheduled to began after the 2006 season and will be completed by the Cardinals home opener in 2007.
