Edwards Stadium

Located in Provo, UT, LaVell Edwards
Stadium is home of the Brigham Young Cougars. Construction of the
stadium began in October 1963 and was completed the following fall. It
was originally known as Cougar Stadium and had a seating capacity of
28,000 in 1964. Nearly two decades passed before fans saw any changes
at the stadium.

In 1982, the stadium was expanded enormously to
being able to seat 65,000 fans. Stands were constructed on the north
and south sides of the stadium, the track was removed, and the field
was lowered; allowing for additional seating to be built. Before the
1996 season, a new video/scoreboard was installed on the south side of
the stadium. The stadium was renamed after former Cougars Coach LaVell Edwards after the 200 season. Today the stadium
consist of a single tier box bowl with a four level press box on the
west side containing 42 luxury suites. |
