Along with the Florida Atlantic Owls, the Florida
International Golden Panthers are making their debut as as a football
member of the Sun Belt Conference in 2005. The Golden Panthers have
played at FIU Stadium, also known as Community Stadium for many years
as a Division II team. Since 1995, the stadium has underwent a couple
of renovations and improvements. Recently Astroplay has been
installed, along with new scoreboards, pressbox, and skyboxes. Today,
the stadium has a seating capacity of 17,000. Over the coming years,
FIU plans to expand the stadium to seat over 30,000 fans.
