The Charlotte 49ers made their debut as a member of Conference USA in 2015 and are the youngest collegiate team in the Football Bowl Subdivision as they began playing in 2013. The 15,000 seat Jerry Richardson Stadium has been the home of the 49ers since their inception. Charlotte played their first game here on August 31, 2013 against Campbell. The single tier grandstand is in the shape of a horseshoe with the south end open. Located here is the Judy Rose Football Center and the main video/scoreboard. They are now members of the American Athletic Conference.
